Ernie Freistat got his introduction to construction early in life as a day laborer on construction sites in his teens. At the time, he worked his way up the ranks before making a switch away from his family's Florida-based construction company to try his hand in sales and marketing.

"But I always enjoyed the challenge of it," he says of construction work. "It's rewarding to put a job together and watch it grow."

Ernie eventually found his way to Chattanooga (and back into the construction field) through what was supposed to be a temporary visit to the Scenic City. Now, years later, he proudly calls it home.

"I was only ever going to stay for a year," he laughs. "I was just looking for something different to do with my life."

And in Chattanooga, Ernie found it, both in terms of a successful career in an industry he loves and a woman to share it with: the love of his life, Noelle.

"What sticks out to me at Collier is that we are all team players. It's such a great atmosphere to be in and be a part of."
