Bryant Black | Development Director
Bryant Black
Development Director
Bryant joined Collier as the Development Director in July 2019 following 27 years in education, business and the United States Navy. While not professionally engaged in the Construction industry, he personally designed and built the home in which he and his wonderful wife Ashley raised three sons in historic St. Elmo.
“At the time, nobody had built a new home in St. Elmo in decades. For us it did not matter. We loved the historic character, the porches and wide avenues that remind one of community, its proximity to the city, its diversity, and its grand oak trees. Interestingly enough, Collier’s focus on restoring our brownfield blighted communities and building new neighborhoods in their midst combined my community minded interests with an opportunity to design and develop not just one home but entire neighborhoods!”
Bryant develops concept and associated pro forma, site and budget development, and manages zoning, city permitting and compliance, and all matters legal. If it does not directly involve the construction of a new home, he is probably the right person to call.
When Bryant is not at Mill Town, he is headed out of town, looking for the trail head in the Blue Ridge, casting a line in a mountain stream or off the jetty at Fernandina Beach, or traveling with Ashley to see his sons and daughter-in-law.
